Scientists have developed a new technology that can trace your lost items within seconds using a special search engine on your smartphone or computer.  The system, developed by Ulm University in Germany, takes only a few seconds to tell the user exactly which drawer their wallet is in, or where they left their car keys.  The app, called FindMyStuff, allows a user to type the name of whatever they have lost into a Google-like page or app, The Times reported.  Owing to a network of tiny sensors that have previously been placed on valuables, within furniture and around the home, the app will return an answer such as: "Your keys are behind the sofa cushions."  Florian Schaub, the creator of FindMyStuff, said that with sensors, transmitters and chips becoming ever smaller and cheaper, the world was already moving towards 'digital homes', places where almost everything we own can communicate with computers.  "Our system can be retrospecti...

Japanese researchers have developed a system, which is capable of manipulating your emotions and personal preferences by presenting you with an image of your own smiling or frowning face. The researchers were interested to see if the principle that emotional drives can be driven by physiological ones, could be used to build a computer system that manipulates how people feel. The newly system created by Shigeo Yoshida and colleagues at the University of Tokyo in Japan works by showing a user a webcam image of his or her face - just like they would see when they looked in a mirror, New Scientist reported. A software subtly alters the image, and turns the corners of the mouth up or down and changes area around the eyes, so that he/she appears to smile or frown. VERAVAL: Authorities in the Sasan Gir National Park in Gujarat, which houses the largest number of Asiatic Lions, have constructed artificial water ponds for animals, as they often stray out towards human habitation in search of water to seek relief from the intense heat.  With the mercury soaring each passing day and natural water sources drying up, the forest authorities have constructed water ponds, which are filled periodically by tractor-driven tankers for the animals to quench their thirst.  Babra Range Forest Officer R D Vansh said the ponds are filled with water twice a day.  "The babra vidi falls under the Veraval range of the Junagadh district of Gujarat Forest Department.
